Cel Overberghe
° 1937, Deurne
Cel Overberghe was one of the youngest members of the G58 Hessenhuis. His work of the 1950's was described as "playful and elegant" by Marc Callewaert. Bright compositions in white, black and grey, clean shapes or simple surfaces, are all well-balanced.
Overberghe's paintings are solid, vivid and vibrating. The artist's love for jazz is also expressed through the sparling rhythm of his works.
