Luc Peire
Luc Peire evolved from expressionism to creating representations of man as a spiritual being, symbolised by vertical movement. In doing so, Peire became internationally acclaimed as a master of abstract verticalism. His artistic dialogue with other visual artists such as Eduardo Westerdahl, Alberto Sartoris, Josep María Subirachs, Michel Seuphor, Leo Breuer, Henri Chopin and Mathias Goerit played an instrumental part in his development.
Peire stripped his verticalism to its essence, developing his own personal art form, the black and white ‘graphie’. Peire collaborated with many other artists, architects and urban planners, creating integration projects in Belgium and France.
He went on to have an international career as a visual artist.
In July 2003, the Atelier Luc Peire - Stichting Jenny & Luc Peire opened the artist’s studio in Knokke (Belgium) to the public.
