BRAFA 2025
Delen Private Bank’s stand at BRAFA shows a uniquely curated group exhibition. We unite a wide variety of artists from diverse art movements, creating an encounter between generations, materials, techniques, design and art. New and renowned artists and designers enter into dialogue. Romantic artworks are juxtaposed with graphic compositions, and traditional and modern elements challenge each other. The result is a presentation that invites reflection and a fresh view on creativity.
Thanks to the collaboration with owners of private collections, heirs of artists, museums such as Mu.ZEE and foundations like Walter Leblanc Foundation, we are able to showcase an exceptional selection of artworks. We are honoured to integrate this art, originating from various sources, as a new entity in the spaces designed by Anne-Sophie Delen.
Our bank strives for sustainable growth, a philosophy also applied to our support of fine arts. Rather than building its own extensive collection, the bank primarily focuses on partnerships with artists, museums and collectors. As such, we can offer artists a platform and contribute to the development of the art world.
The Belgian art scene is rich with leading artists and collections. There are many hidden artistic gems to discover, and we gladly help to uncover them.
The exhibition at BRAFA also marks our new partnership with Mu.ZEE, of which the bank recently became a proud sponsor. We are excited about the collaboration with this remarkable museum and are delighted to present a selection of their works at BRAFA and in our new office in Knokke. Through this partnership, the bank strengthens its commitment to culture and the arts, and increases its visibility at the Belgian coast.
The collection of Mu.ZEE in Ostend comprises some 8.000 artworks. Together, they provide an intriguing picture of art in Belgium from 1880 until the present day. A third of Mu.ZEE’s collection consists of donated or bequeathed artworks. These generous gifters and legatees have different profiles: private collectors, artists and their descendants, galleries, foundations, .. Each in their own way, they help to build a public, museum collection and preserve art for the future.
This crucial acquisition pillar, together with a targeted acquisition policy, a number of long-term loans and the ever-growing Flemish Community Collection, support the development of Mu.ZEE's collection, building on the two institutions from which it emerged in 2010 (Museum of Fine Arts Ostend and Provincial Museum of Modern Art).
As one of the guest collections at the BRAFA stand of Delen Private Bank, Mu.ZEE is showing 6 collection pieces, each telling the story of their donation or bequest. These works are usually shown in Mu.ZEE’s changing collection presentation in the building at Romestraat 11 in Ostend, a building that is currently being renovated, or in one of Mu.ZEE's two other houses: the Permekemuseum in Jabbeke or Peiremuzee in Knokke-Heist. During its closing years, Mu.ZEE will continue to expand and present its collection. As of February 2025, Mu.Zee will be represented at FeliX Art and Ecomuseum in Drogenbos to showcase part of its collection there. And as of summer 2025, The Venetian Galleries – located amidst the Ostend embankment – will house some of Mu.ZEE’s finest works for a period of two years.
Please note that the artworks shown at our stand are part of museum and private collections, and are not for sale.
